Tegometall Bay Assembly Instructions

Tegometall Shelving is a great product, but if you have never used it before you might not be familiar with how it all goes together. So we have put together this handy little guide to help you.

1) Preperation: Unpack all componants from your delivery, lay them out neatly and familiarise yourself with all the pieces. Here is a break-down of all the pieces for a wall bay, a gondola bay will go together in just the same way

2) Baseleg Assembly: The baseleg is the part that hold the bottom shelf on your Tegometall bay. Located your baseleg and the upright (the tall part with slots cut in to it) and slot them together. This may require a tap from a rubber mallet just to make sure they are correctly joined.
… if you have ordered a Gondola Bay, you will have an extra base leg to fit to the other side, as in fig.2

3) Fitting Back Panels: Fitting your back panels to your Tegometall bay is where the bay really begins to take shape. Again it is very simple to do.
Your back panels will have little lugs all along the edges that fit in to the slots on the uprights, so its just a matter of clipping it all together.
Once you have the back panels fitted the bay should now be able to stand on it’s own. This is a good time to find a spirit level and make sure it is standing straight, use the adjustable feet on your baselegs to adjust if needed.

4) Fitting Your Plinths: This is a plain peice that covers the gap between the baselegs from the front. its very easy to fit. The edge of the plinth slots into the gap in the front of the baseleg as shown, to fit spread the baselegs slightly to locate one side of the plinth then slot the opposite end into the adjoining baseleg so that the plinth is held in position horizontally and can move vertically to leave no gaps between the plinth rubber and floor.

5) Base Shelves: Now your plinths are fitted it is time to fit your base shelves. The shelf is inserted upon the baseleg with the larger bent down edge to the front of the unit, the sides of the shelf fit in the gap on the top of the baselegs with the back of the shelf flush with the back panels, the shelf will locate onto the notches on the baseleg to prevent it from moving forward.

6) Top Covers: When assembling a double sided gondola the gondola top cover fits over the top of the back panels enclosing them and preventing items falling down inside the unit.
Finish of the ends of each gondola run by clipping the Top caps onto the top of the upright locating in the ends of the gondola top cover.
